Siôn Lloyd is a Principal Security, Stability & Resiliency Scientist at ICANN, where he works in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). Since joining ICANN in 2020, Siôn has focused on research into DNS abuse, including analyzing trends related to COVID-19 domain registrations and evaluating the reliability of third-party data sources used to track abuse across the DNS ecosystem.
He brings over two decades of experience to this work, having spent more than 20 years at a country code top-level domain registry, where he specialized in Internet infrastructure, security, and abuse mitigation.
Siôn’s expertise helps inform ICANN’s efforts to maintain the DNS as a secure and resilient component of the global Internet. He regularly collaborates with stakeholders across the technical and policy communities to strengthen DNS security and improve the accuracy of data used in abuse response.
